John P. Van Valkenburg joined Gerten and Van Valkenburg, PA, in 1990. Mr. Van Valkenburg practices family law, probate & estate planning and business creation. He works with his clients to create the best outcome for their case, listening to their concerns and carefully and succinctly explaining the sometimes overwhelming aspects of the law during an emotional time. Mr. Van Valkenburg also handles probate and estate administration, ensuring his client's needs are served during such a stressful and difficult time. His work in real estate law and small business law draw not only from his legal expertise, but also his experiences as managing partner of his own small business. Mr. Van Valkenburg attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he joined Delta Tau Delta. He earned his B.A. and graduated in 1982. He attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he earned his J.D. and graduated in 1988. After graduation, Mr. Van Valkenburg was admitted to the Minnesota Bar, the United States District Court in the District of Minnesota and the United States Federal Court. Mr. Van Valkenburg is a committed member of his community and working with its young people. Among his professional associations are his support for the YMCA, the Boy Scouts, Camp Ajawah, as well as high school sports. In his free time, Mr. Van Valkenburg enjoys the outdoors. He works with the Boy Scouts and goes camping, hiking and canoeing. He enjoys spending time at his cabin and also traveling whenever possible. During warmer weather, you will find him biking with his family on his pedal or motor scooter. |
